NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING JUNE 27

In accordance with the Club's Bylaws, please consider this notice of a special vote to award two grants over $10,000.00 that will take place during our June 27, 2019 lunch meeting at 12:15 at Hadley Hall. The Bylaws require any grant request over $5,000 to be submitted to the membership for a vote at a meeting. All members present at the meeting may vote.

Before the membership will be two proposals:

First, as you are aware, the Club opened up the Major Gifts process this year to award up to $30,000.00 in the form of a major gift. The Major Gifts Committee vetted the applicants and on June 5, 2019 made its recommendations to the Board of Directors. The Board has decided to pass the recommendations of the committee on to the membership for a formal vote. The Major Gifts Committee is recommending that a $30,000 Major Gift be given with Wright Locke Farm Conservatory being given $15,000.00 to construct a patio as part of its All Seasons Barn project and that the Jenk's Center be awarded a grant of $15,000.00 to assist in paying for a 6 passenger van to shuttle its members. Caren Connelly, Chair of the Major Gifts Committee will be present at the meeting to answer any questions.

Second, Jack Kean has submitted a grant request of $10,000.00 for the Town Common Saltmarsh Garden renovation project in honor of Whip Saltmarsh. Jack presented his grant to the Board of Directors and the Board decided to pass the grant request onto the membership for a formal vote. Jack will be at the meeting to answer any questions.

At the meeting, after discussion, the membership will take two votes by ballot:

1. To approve the recommendations of the Major Gifts Committee and award a $30,000.00 Major Gift with $15,000 going to the Wright Locke Farm Conservatory and $15,000 going to the Jenk's Center and

2. To approve the grant request of Jack Kean and for the Club to make a $10,000.00 donation to the Town Common renovation project in honor of Whip Saltmarsh.

In order for one or both requests to pass 2/3 of the members present will have to vote in the affirmative.

We hope to see you at this special meeting on June 27.
